Vendor requirements at Miami-Opa locka Executive Airport
Opa-locka, FL. OPF. Sponsor: Miami-Dade County (Miami-Dade Aviation Department)
Vendors at Opa-locka apply online to the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) for a General Aviation Airports permit, and the application will not be approved without a signed service agreement with a customer. Plan on a $500 non-refundable application fee and a $500 refundable deposit. The key numbers are $1M general liability with Miami-Dade County as additional insured and $1M auto for any vehicle used on the AOA.
Permit to operate
GAA Permit (Operations at General Aviation Airports), issued by Miami-Dade Aviation Department.
Fee: $500 non-refundable application fee, plus $500 refundable security deposit
Apply online and pay through MIA-Pay. Upload an executed service agreement with a customer (effective date, term, detailed scope, signed by both parties). The permit is month-to-month for up to one year, either side may cancel on 15 days written notice, and it stays valid only while you hold current customer contracts, which must be submitted within seven days. Subcontracting needs MDAD written approval, and the subcontractor works under its own permit. Entities in arrears to the County or out of compliance with LDB and Living Wage requirements are not eligible. Work at MIA needs a separate permit.

- Annual report attested by a CPA once gross revenues reach $250K, due within 90 days of each permit year; below that, a notarized report.
Working under an FBO or tenant
The permit depends on active customer contracts, so each vendor holds its own permit rather than working under an FBO. FBO and customer contracts may add coverage such as hangarkeepers, which the County permit does not require.

Airport minimum standards, decoded for the vendors who have to meet them
Every airport that takes federal grant money publishes rules for businesses that operate on the field. Here is how minimum standards work, how they differ from one airport to the next, and how the FBO's own rules sit on top.

SIDA, AOA, GA and the front door: who needs what to get on the field
Airport access is not just the gate. Vendor teams walk in through FBO lobbies, step onto hangar floors and drive the ramp, and each step can need a different credential. Here is how airport badges and escort rules work, in plain terms.

How to read a vendor’s certificate of insurance in 90 seconds
A certificate of insurance is a one-page summary, not a policy. Here is how FBOs, operators and shops can read one box by box, spot the gaps that matter on an airport, and know what to ask for before a vendor touches an aircraft.
